Sen. Huizenga: March is Reading Month
I want to thank all of the schools that warmly welcomed me during March’s Reading Month and gave me the opportunity to share my love of reading with their kids.
This year, I was able to visit 13 schools, 50 classrooms, and over 1,400 students.
It is always a wonderful opportunity to share the importance of reading and encourage kids to read every single day!

Sen. Huizenga reacts to Gov. Whitmer's State of the State address
Tonight, we heard the State of the State address, where the governor laid out her plans to solve the problems facing our state.
I believe we need to continue working together, in a bipartisan manner, to deliver results for families across Michigan. However, the state budget continues to grow and asking Michiganders to pay more out of their own pockets, being completely out of touch with the reality families face every day.
As your state senator, I will continue to be a problem-solver, and I’ll never stop fighting for responsible government and a better future for all.

Sen. Huizenga: February 20 is Conductive Education Day!
I was honored to introduce Senate Resolution 12 that recognizes today as Conductive Education Day!
Conductive Education is a unique teaching system that maximizes the independence and mobility of children and adults with neuromotor disabilities.
In honor of this day, I was joined by Angela Freier from the Conductive Learning Center of North America. An incredible organization working for students with motor disorders to have the tools and resources needed to live life to the fullest. (February 20, 2025)

Sen. Huizenga Tours Gerald R. Ford International Airport
Last year, I hosted a bipartisan group of legislators at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. In recent years they have experienced tremendous growth and impact across the West Michigan region.
Providing over one hundred flights per day with thirty non-stop flights, the airport has recently undergone major construction upgrades, including a $110 million project to accommodate passenger growth and provide new food and retail options.

Sen. Huizenga Discusses the Tipped Wage at Sundance Bar & Grill
We all have our favorite family restaurants, places we went as children, places we take our families and where we celebrated special occasions.
Unfortunately, starting this year, restaurants will face new regulations that will eliminate the tipped wage system, raising costs for business owners and customers while leaving servers with less money in their pockets.
Join me as I sit down with an employee of Sundance Grill to discuss the impact of these new regulations — and how we can work together to find solutions.
